Game Name: All The Little Branches
Admin’s Name/Identity: Stan
Game URL: dystrata.proboards81.com/index.cgi
Category: Fantasy/Science Fiction
Rating (PG13, etc): PG13
Host Type: Proboards
Open Since: April 2007
Activity: Low
Main Race or Theme: Multiple; Predominantly speculative fiction concerning animal psychology and the use of animals as symbols and foils for humanity; but there are also areas meant for lighter RPing, which tend more towards fantasy themes.
Plot Line:
An intermediate-level multiple-game board with a focus on developing writing skills, increasing member involvement in plots, and providing fun role-playing opportunities; game genre ranges from surreal fantasy to animal realism.
More specifically, there are currently four RPG boards located at ATLB.
The RPG Dr. Circelli's introduces a world in which animals are transferred into human bodies as part of an experiment meant to delve into animal psychology, the abolishment of physical disabilities, and immortality via technology. Animals are treated as animals, creating conflict between animal instinct and human expectations. The focus is on character development and interaction.
At Begin Anew, a post-apocalyptic world is proposed in which humanity has destroyed itself, the landscape has changed drastically, and (somewhat inexplicably) animal-human hybrids roam the Earth. The development of primitive societies affected by animal instincts and habits is one of the major focuses of the game. It is set in a basin formed by the upheaved and drained Indian Ocean, and, as a result, both Indian and African animals are allowed.
The third game, Tower, encourages players to embroil their own characters (as long as they are sentient and able to speak) in a strange plot during which they are magically transported into a giant skyscraper. Unlike Dr. Circelli's, Tower's focus is on maintaining characterization despite wacky external events.
The last board, called The Minigames, provides a means by which any type of RPG can be created by ATLB's members. Popular Minigame threads may even be developed into permanent boards.
